MAHSA University, short for Malaysia United Health Sciences Research Institute, was established in 2004 by Professor Tan Sri Dr. Hj. Mohamed Haniffa, the Prime Minister and Executive Chairman of the MAHSA Group. A distinguished medical clinician, Professor Haniffa envisioned creating a center of academic excellence across diverse disciplines including medicine, biological sciences, dentistry, pharmacy, health sciences, nursing, business, finance, hotel management, information technology, and engineering throughout Southeast Asia.
